Day 7- We Are Still Not Done With Prague

We went back to the hostel for supper and sat down with the usual group of loopy Canadians as we swapped stories over some drinks. On the whole a fun, relaxed final evening with Rob and Troy before I would have to leave.

We headed to the train station. For once I had a vague idea of how we were getting there, though it involved taking a trolley almost to the front door, so no real navigational skills required.

The train station itself was not very pretty and appeared somewhat grimy as a result of its artlessly functional design. However, it was not until we got to the concourse for the train platforms that we really saw what we expected.

I say "what we expected" because, this being a former Eastern bloc country and having grown up during the decline of Western communism, one normally expects dimly lit, drab, peeling concrete. That was in plentiful supply in the concourse underneath the platforms. It would have been a disheartening sight had that been what we saw upon arriving. Fortunately, we’d arrived at a different train station and had taken the subway into this station, entering through a quite different section of the building. Thus, we had already seen the city and we knew this dank, dark, fetid hallway was not the least indicative of what Prague had to offer.

I got on the train, Rob and Troy did not and I was off to Munich.
