The 1999 Europe Trip
A long sequence of essays detailing a trip to Europe taken with two old friends, Troy and Rob. Lacking any travel experience, decent maps, skill with language, or even any idea how to properly pack, we set out for Europe. I will say this: we did find it.

Introduction
How I ended up with a plane ticket. |
Day 1- Arriving
I land in London Gatwick and screw up a lot. |
Day 6- Prague
Some guy tries to hustle Troy and we all forget how to read. |
| Day 1- London
I describe London as the Brits used to describe Africa: pompously. |
Day 6- Navigating Prague
A cautionary tale. |
|
Day 2- London
We try to drink away our hangovers. It's worked before. |
Day 6- To the Hostel in Prague
Someone tells us what to do. We drink to celebrate. |
| Day 2 & 3 - Bus Ride & Amsterdam
Nothing but the finest transportation for us. |
Day 7- Seeing Prague
We finally see things. We're still not sure what they were. |
| Day 3- Amsterdam
We drink in the Red Light District. |
Day 7- Still Seeing Prague
We visit a castle and I wax poetic on architectural supports. Troy points at things. |
| Day 4- Amsterdam
We ride a boat, we see the sights, we get depressed by Anne Frank. |
Day 7- There's More Prague?
Nothing happens. Except that I finally leave the city. |
| Day 5- To Berlin
Trains scare the crap out of us. |
Day 7- Train To Munich
I talk with some guy on a train. Passport checkers attack. |
| Day 5- Berlin
Some guy shows us where stuff is. |
Day 8- Munich
I meet Germans, drink their beer, and see the set for Germany's SportsCenter. |
| Day 5- More Berlin
Some guy shows us where other stuff is. |
Day 9- Closing Overs
I try to leave. Europe doesn't let me go without a fight. |
| Day 6- On to Prague!
We drink the world's worst beer and enjoy the countryside. |
Final Thoughts
Some wisdom from my travels. And I bitch about coffee. |
